Chaya Wellness is a complimentary wellness center that uses an Ayurvedic approach to guide clients towards balance and wholeness when making choices about diet, lifestyle, and self-awareness.
Ayurveda is the ancient Indian Science of Life. Ayurvedic medicine relies on herbs, spices, and whole foods to support overall wellness and a healthy immune system and lifestyle. Ayurveda is not intended to be, though can be, a quick fix for most disease processes, but an approach to living and navigating life that results in wholeness and overall emotional and physical wellbeing.
When there are lifestyle blockages due to emotional unrest, Supportive Psychotherapy can be a critical component of a wellness plan. I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology, and rely on the skills gleaned from my last decade and a half of clinical practice when these blockages are present.
All Disease Begins in the Gut, and in today's day and age we are infiltrated with toxins - through our environments, through our lifestyle choices, and through our foods. When digestion is suboptimal, our body's ability to expel toxins efficiently become compromised, which results in a toxic build up in throughout the physiology. With gentle cleansing and supportive dietary and lifestyle choices, we can support our body's natural detoxification processes. I invite you to join me on your journey towards detoxification and overall wellness.
Neurological, Neuropsychiatric, and Emotional Disorders have historically been considered to be functions of the brain. While this is true, the brain typically targeted for intervention is the one located above our shoulders ~ however, the brain that is more likely responsible is the one in our guts, the Enteric Brain, including the microbiome. By targeting the brain in our guts with supportive foods and spices, we can begin to rebuild and repair our physiology in a way that achieves optimum balance throughout both of our brain centers.
Myasthenia Gravis, Fibromialgia, Tendonitis, Carpel Tunel Syndrome, Myofascial Pain, Osteoporosis, Scoliosis...

Diet is a key component in achieving balance through Ayurveda. Diet includes not only include our food choices, but our environmental, social, and media choices as well (Lifestyle). An Ayurvedic Diet is rich in herbs and spices, freshly cooked foods, and healthy proteins and fats. A balanced diet leads to a balanced mind, so let's work together to find your balance!
Lifestyle choices are everywhere, from what we eat and where we work out, to what we read and watch on TV or the internet, to our friends, colleagues, and family. We are bombarded everyday with thousands of Lifestyle choices, and the knowledge and willfulness to choose options that support balance and overall wellness will empower you to achieve your short- and long-term Lifestyle goals.
Self-Awareness is a key element to achieving overall wellness, as we are the only ones who are truly able to know ourselves and our needs. I will guide you on a journey in discovering yourself through your mind, body, and lifestyle choices, as we work towards achieving your wellness goals.
Nutrition and Emotional Health go hand in hand - Let's work together to develop nutritional habits that support your emotional wellbeing.
Nutritional Counseling targets the relationship between the brain in our guts (enteric system) and the brain in our heads (central nervous system) - yes we have two! Having two brains means that we are more susceptible to damage, and that "brain damage" has a direct impact on your Emotional Health. Let's work together to shape your dietary choices into ones that support your Emotional Health, rather than damage your gut, in turn damaging your central nervous system and related Emotional Health.
Emotional Health is the result of our lifestyle choices, including sleep, exercise, nutrition, self-awareness and spirituality, and balance. Let's work together to understand your lifestyle choices, how they affect your Emotional Health, and simple, everyday changes that you can make to achieve balance, wholeness, and fulfillment in your long- and short-term goals.
Traditional Psychotherapy can be an important stand alone intervention, or a supportive part of any wellness program. I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology and have maintained a private practice in Haddonfield NJ for the last ten years.
